Our Voice
Championing the Rights of Market Vendors
At Tanzania Women Tapo Trust, we believe that economic empowerment cannot exist without social justice. Our advocacy work focuses on breaking the barriers that marginalized local women vendors face every day.
We act as a bridge between the women on the ground and the policy makers, ensuring that the local marketplace becomes a space of respect, safety, and equal opportunity.

Pillars of Advocacy
What We Fight For
Ending GBV & Sextortion
We take a stand against gender-based violence and "sex for stalls" (sextortion) in markets. We provide safe reporting channels and work with authorities to hold perpetrators accountable.
Market Governance
We advocate for the inclusion of women in market leadership committees. Our goal is to ensure that women have a direct say in how their marketplaces are managed and taxed.
Economic Justice
Fighting for fair trade practices and access to low-interest financial resources. We advocate for policies that protect small-scale vendors from unfair competition and displacement.
